Over 50 Million Americans Have Arthritis

Arthritis is the number one cause of disability in the country. That means 1 in every 5 adults, 300,000 children and countless families. These numbers are only going to keep growing—unless we take a stand. The first steps in conquering arthritis are learning the facts, understanding your condition and knowing that help is by your side.

Imagine a World Free From Arthritis Pain. Help Us End Arthritis

Tree of Life Seeds is collaborating with the Arkansas Arthritis Foundation (AF) to bring awareness to the foundation’s mission to help people with arthritis. In September 2019, The Arthritis Foundation became the first major medical organization to announce publicly its position on the use of CBD by people living with arthritis.

Celebrating a Sponsorship to Spread Awareness

As part of the support, Tree of Live Seeds will help bring awareness to the foundation by promoting them and their events through social media and through challenges on the CBDisLife platform.  Also, Tree of Life Seeds will be donating a portion of sales for all purchases made using a special coupon code.

The CBDisLife platform allows users to complete challenges such as interacting on social media, selling products for friends, and participating in events like the Jingle Bell Run for the Arthritis Foundation.  In exchange, they earn points that can be cashed in for a donation to the Foundation.

Do I Have Arthritis?

How do you know if your inflammation and stiffness means you have arthritis? Only a health care professional can tell you for sure, but certain signs usually point to arthritis. There are four important warning signs that should prompt you to talk to a health care provider.

  1. Pain. Pain from arthritis can be constant or it may come and go. It may occur when at rest or while moving. Pain may be in one part of the body or in many different parts.
  2. Swelling. Some types of arthritis cause the skin over the affected joint to become red and swollen, feeling warm to the touch. Swelling that lasts for three days or longer or occurs more than three times a month should prompt a visit to the doctor.
  3. Stiffness. This is a classic arthritis symptom, especially when waking up in the morning or after sitting at a desk or riding in a car for a long time. Morning stiffness that lasts longer than an hour is good reason to suspect arthritis.
  4. Difficulty moving a joint. It shouldn’t be that hard or painful to get up from your favorite chair.

Your experience with inflammation and stiffness will be important in helping your doctor pin down the type and extent of arthritis. Before visiting the doctor, keep track of your symptoms for a few weeks, noting what is swollen and stiff, when, for how long, and what helps ease the symptoms.

If the doctor suspects arthritis, they will perform tests to check the range of motion in your joints, asking you to move the joint back and forth. The doctor may also check passive range of motion by moving the joint for you. Any pain during a range of motion test is a possible symptom of arthritis.

Treating inflammation and stiffness can involve medicine, both prescription or over-the-counter, and other methods.

Arthritis and CBD

Regarding lifestyle resources, on September 24, 2019, the Arthritis Foundation released a guide for arthritis patients on how to find the right CBD products and how to use them safely. CBD (Cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive chemical compound derived from Cannabis that may have therapeutic benefits such as relieving pain/inflammation, easing anxiety, and decreasing insomnia. Medical experts worked with the Arthritis Foundation to ensure the guide answered the top questions patients have about taking CBD. The guide was created after the Arthritis Foundation conducted a survey in July, asking people with arthritis their thoughts on using CBD for managing their health. Out of 2600 people surveyed, 79% were either currently using CBD or had used it in the past for alleviating symptoms of arthritis.

The Arthritis Foundation office in Little Rock has chosen to partner with Tree of Life Seeds because of their commitment to providing high-quality CBD products for people who are looking to gain the benefits that CBD has to offer.

Angela Harris, Executive Director of the Arkansas Arthritis Foundation, said, “We are excited to partner with Tree of Life Seeds knowing their products provide the level of quality our Arthritis Warriors deserve.”
