INGREDIENTS: PEPPERMINT CBD OIL DROPS

What ingredients are in your CBD products? Products that work aren’t randomly thrown together ingredients put into a bottle. The ingredients are well thought out and are planned carefully to create the end result. Peppermint CBD Oil Drops, also known as tinctures are much more than just CBD. Let’s go through the process and values of each ingredient. Every CBD product is not the same and not created equal.

Carrier Oils:

Better carrier oils mean better ingredients, which equal better CBD products with more potential health benefits.

What is a carrier oil and why are they important? Carrier oils are used in combination with essential oils in order to dilute them and alter their absorption rate. Essential oils such as CBD are extremely potent, so you only need a very small amount to take advantage of their many benefits. Carrier oils allow you to properly dose, without needing to use too much. So when you use a carrier oil, you are reducing the chances of causing any adverse reactions.

Some benefits of carrier oils are better absorption, easier dosing, and additional health benefits.

One key reason for using a carrier oil is that they improve the bioavailability, which means they help your body absorb the CBD oil. CBD is fat-soluble, which means that it dissolves in oil rather than water. Fat-soluble substances are better absorbed when digested along with fat, even in small amounts.

When you digest water-soluble substances, like sugar or many vitamins and minerals, your digestive tract sends them directly into your bloodstream (because blood is a water-based liquid).

Fat-soluble substances can’t be absorbed this way. Instead, your digestive tract sends them into fatty tissues and they’re distributed through your body by the lymphatic system, which is part of your immune system. Any excess is stored in your liver and fatty tissues for later use.

All carrier oils are fat-soluble, which means CBD dissolves in it, and then the oil carries the CBD into the proper tissues so they’re more accessible by your body.

CBD broad spectrum oil is a potent chemical, which means you don’t need much of it for a medicinal effect. However, that poses a problem when it comes to dosing. To deliver appropriate and consistent doses, it’s easier to measure out a dropperful of CBD-infused oil than a tiny amount of crystalline isolate (which is CBD in pure form).

Our product uses two carrier oils in our CBD drop formulas, grapeseed and hempseed oil.

Grapeseed Oil

Grapeseed oil is made from grape seeds, which are byproducts from the winemaking process. It wasn’t until recently that grapeseed oil was extracted from the leftover seeds to create a product.

There are not many key nutrients in grapeseed oil. However, it does contain ingredients like vitamin E, Omega-6 fatty acids, and is high in polyunsaturated fatty acids, which contribute to some potential health benefits.

A study of overweight or obese women showed that the consumption of grapeseed oil improved inflammatory conditions as well as insulin resistance.

Grapeseed oil contains high levels of vitamin E, which has high antioxidant properties, and has shown to contribute to the reduction of damaged cells from free radicals in the body. This protection helps prevent heart disease and some cancers. Replacing food with high saturated fat levels with those containing polyunsaturated fats have also been shown to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease.

Another study indicated that grapeseed oil contributes to lowering platelet aggregation, which reduces blood clotting.

Hempseed Oil

Comes from the same plant, but hemp seed oil (sometimes called hemp oil) and CBD oil aren’t the same things. CBD comes from the flower while hemp seed oil, as you probably guessed, comes from the seeds.

The seeds contain fewer beneficial chemicals (cannabinoids and terpenes) than the flower and in much lower concentrations. However, they do contain some hemp phytochemicals that aren’t present in the flowers.

Using hemp seed oil as a carrier oil for CBD may contribute to what’s called the “entourage effect,” which basically means that combining parts of the plant may make each component more effective than it would be alone.

That makes it a common choice for “full and or broad-spectrum” products, which contain all or most of the component chemicals of the hemp plant rather than just CBD.

Pros:

  • Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which may lower inflammation
  • Ideal ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids
  • High antioxidant levels
  • Good source of fiber
  • Contains magnesium, calcium, iron, and zinc
  • Possible entourage effect

Buyer Beware
Some companies try to pass off hemp seed oil as CBD oil. Be sure to check the ingredients and amount of CBD a product contains before you buy it. All reputable companies should provide this information on their labels and websites.

Additional Potential Health Claims
Hemp seed has been used medicinally for a wide array of conditions, most of which have not been researched enough to say for sure whether they’re safe and effective.

  • Due to anti-inflammatory abilities, it may be useful for treating rheumatoid arthritis.
  • It may improve heart health by lowering cholesterol and blood pressure.
  • Used topically, hemp seed may reduce acne and other conditions involving skin inflammation.

Flavoring:

Flavoring can even be a healthy beneficial ingredient. We are selective in the flavoring ingredients we choose and here is why.

To get to an oil based taste that is tolerable to most people we have to dress it up a little. Our peppermint CBD drops have peppermint and stevia for flavoring. Other than masking the oil taste what benefits do each of these ingredients offer?

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil is derived from the peppermint plant — a cross between water mint and spearmint — that thrives in Europe and North America.

Peppermint oil is commonly used as flavoring in foods and beverages. Peppermint oil also is used for a variety of health conditions and can be taken orally in dietary supplements.

Clinical evidence suggests that peppermint oil likely can help with symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. It may also help indigestion and prevent spasms in the GI tract caused by endoscopy or barium enema.

Dietary supplements containing peppermint oil are also used by some people for the following conditions, although there is no clear evidence that they are helpful:

Nausea
Vomiting
Morning sickness
Cramps of the upper gastrointestinal tract and bile ducts
Diarrhea
Gas
Colds
Coughs
Inflammation of the mouth and throat
Sinus and respiratory infections
Menstrual problems

Peppermint can stimulate the areas of the brain responsible for alertness, resulting in increased focus and attention. At the same time, peppermint doesn’t contain any of the negative side effects of caffeine or other stimulants, and can also help to balance your mood and increase relaxation. If you need a little boost but want to steer clear of caffeine and other stimulants, peppermint can serve a similar function. Due to this effect on some people we recommend taking our peppermint CBD drops in the morning or early afternoon when you need a pick me up and not before bedtime.

Stevia

Stevia is a nonnutritive sweetener. This means it has almost no calories. Stevia is considered safe for people with diabetes

Broad Spectrum CBD Oil:

To get the most health benefits out of your CBD product we use Broad Spectrum CBD oil. This means it has ZERO THC but keeps all of the other major benefits of the hemp plant.

All of the good and none of the psychoactive. Our CBD oil has the most cannabinoids, phytocannabinoids and terpenes as possible that is extracted from the all natural hemp plant only minus the THC. All of the THC has been removed in the process so that there is no chance of you failing a THC drug test from the regular use of our products.

Cannabinoids are a group of fatty compounds that act on cannabinoid receptors found in the body of mammals. These receptors are part of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). Together they are of great importance to the human body having a strong role in establishing and maintaining homeostasis. Cannabinoids produced naturally by the mammalian body and are called endocannabinoids. Cannabinoids produced naturally by the hemp plant and other plants are called phytocannabinoids. Hemp naturally produces more than 80 different phytocannabinoids. Of the 80+ non-psychoactive phytocannabinoids, Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most widely known. Others include Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabichromene (CBC) & more.

The Entourage Effect is a term used by the scientists who discovered it in the 1990’s. Basically, it means that cannabinoids work more effectively with the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) when they are in the presence of other synergistic cannabinoids. Therefore, whole-plant extracts that contain a spectrum profile of phytocannabinoids, terpenes & flavonoids are more effective than a single molecule compound.

There are many more potential health benefits with all of these ingredients if you want to take a deep dive down a lot of rabbit holes. In short, we hope you enjoy our products, live a healthy lifestyle, and share this information with your friends and family.
