Help! I Can’t Sleep! What Can I Do?

I toss and turn every night when its time to get into bed. No matter what I do, I have trouble falling asleep. I’ve tried going to bed at a consistent time, getting up at a constant time, working out before bed, showering before bed…everything I can think of, but falling asleep is one of the most challenging things of my day. But, after years of trial and error, I’ve finally found a few things that help me sleep. I’m going to share these three things with you, so you don’t have to put in all the work I did.

1.      Yoga

Yoga can be a great benefit for helping you relax at the end of the day. According to Slumber Yard, yoga is an excellent way to calm the mind and help the body relax. They recommend creating a calming environment to do yoga, make sure you practice on a flat surface and in a location where you feel comfortable.

They recommend three simple poses. First, do the cat-cow pose. It is straightforward and great for stretching the back. Then try lotus pose. This pose is also great for your back. The final pose they recommend is the seated twist. It is a simple seated pose that allows you to twist and stretch.

2.      Bright Light

I know this part sounds strange. You don’t generally think of bright light as a solution for sleep, but this really can help. The key, according to Healthline, is to maintain a good circadian rhythm. You can help your body reach the right balance by getting a fair amount of sunlight during the day.

Healthline recommends “daytime bright light exposure improved sleep quality and duration. It also reduced the time it took to fall asleep by 83%.” So it’s really not about getting bright light at bedtime, but more about exposing yourself to sunlight during the day. I like to do this by going out for an early morning run.

3.      CBD

According to Healthline, CBD may be a key to a good night’s sleep. CBD may help you calm your mind, ease muscle pain, and generally help keep your body in a state of balance.

Our CBD for sleep, called Rest, provides 25mg of CBD along with 1 mg each of Melatonin and Chamomile. It is designed to help you fall asleep quickly, stay asleep throughout the night, and wake feeling refreshed and ready for the new day.

Bottom Line

Sleep can be tricky. If you struggle to fall asleep quickly, stay asleep, or just wake feeling like you have had a rough night, these tips may help you. If you have any suggestions for how to get quality sleep, make sure to leave a comment below so we can all try it.
